Yes, that’s right, we went camping…in tents (slept on mattresses), in the woods, nearest flush toilets were ¼ mile away, and I am now at 37 weeks!
Here’s the quick list of highlights from the trip:
3 days, 2 nights
Six Families (our small group/care group from church)
Six kids, ages 7, 4, almost-3, 2, and two almost-2-year-olds. Three of which were experiencing their first camping trip.
1 broken record for low temperature- 31º (brrrrrrr)
Hiking to see a waterfall…we’re guessing about 4 miles, with toddlers and only one person had a backpack carrier for the kids.
Yummy campfire-food- thank you to the cooks!!!
Lots of relaxing, fun time to spend with good friends!
It was a little exhausting to say the least, but we had so much fun! Caleb loved it…except waking up Saturday morning…but he got through that after a van ride. Caleb slept like a champ through the nights and napped very well. Of course, for bedtime, he had 3 sets of pj’s on….a fall set, and two fleece footy-pjs, along with his stocking cap. He then slept in a sleeping bag with a fleece blanket over that! He may have been the warmest one in our tent! Of course, the advantage of it being cold was that the mosquitoes were not a problem. We didn’t even have to use bug spray. We had plenty of warm campfires and hot chocolate to warm us up!
